Luxperience co-founder Sama “no longer with the company”.
Helen Logas has been announced as the new ceo of Luxperience Enterprises, the organiser of the Luxperience “high end experiential travel show” which debuted in Sydney in Sep this year.
But former Luxperience ceo, Rosemarie Sama, has launched her own event called Luxe Events Travel Experiences (LETE) – with both shows scheduled for the same dates in Sydney next year, 02-04 Sep 2013.
Logas, who sold her former business Travelcorp to Corporate Travel Management for around $15m in 2010, founded Luxperience in partnership with Rosemarie Sama, well known in the business events sector for her role as a former AIME director.
A statement today said “former Luxperience CEO Rosemarie Sama is no longer with the company,” and according to ASIC records Sama resigned as a director of Luxperience on 01 Sep, but remains a 50% shareholder in the firm.
Logas said she was excited about the future for Luxperience, which “will maintain the intimacy of a growing community that is committed to high quality and inspirational travel experiences” when it returns to an as yet unspecified Sydney venue 02-04 Sep 2013.
Virgin Australia will continue as a major Luxperience sponsor, while “dozens of exhibitors from around Asia Pacific and Australia have reconfirmed for 2013 and will be joined by product suppliers from additional destinations such as Europe, the Americas and Africa”.
Sama, whose LETE 2013 will be held at Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal, said that feedback from Luxperience showed there was a “huge demand for this type of event but that a greater focus on experiential meetings and events was needed”.
LETE will include eight “fun and informative networking events” held around the Sydney Harbour area, and rather than having exhibition booths will have “comfortable lounge-style meetings areas and a fixed pricing system to ensure a level playing field for participation and an affordable entry price point”.
